The ancient plum tree

There is a football game at the high school tonight. It’s about three acres away. The field lights provide just enough light to our backyard.

This is our ancient plum tree. Her trunk is twisted as are her branches. Every year she gives us just a few plums, enough to wet our appetites. She’s had a couple of rough winters and I think it is probably time to have the tree guys out to thin her out before we start losing more major branches. This might be the last photo I take of her before she gets trimmed.
