A schroom grotto

ISO 100, 100mm macro, f/22, 10.0 sec

Day 688 Karen and Flocko walked ahead of me on the trail looking for treasures while I poked behind taking photos as I saw them. She pointed out this rusty rotten tree stump that had mushrooms growing out the side.

When I finished shooting the ones that she pointed out I looked up and saw this family that was growing inside a carved out part of the trunk.

I looked at the highlight a little closer and realized that it was actually a reflection of the old growth trees behind me.

beautiful shot! I have been wanting to head up to Oregon to visit a friend and now I want to go even more, I can only imagine what I could find on a hike out there.
