Last fall at the Willamette Humane Society annual Boo Bash, I offered a “Weekend at the Beach” package. It included two nights at the Inn at Cape Kiwanda and a photo session on the beach.
This weekend, we had the session. We drove out Saturday morning and although I had been watching the weather really closely, I thought we would beat the rain. As we got closer, the light got flatter and just as we pulled into Pacific City, it began to pour.
We met Ray and Max and made Plan B. We drove home and went back out Sunday morning. It was the best thing that could have happened. The light was perfect Sunday morning and the beaches were empty. I knew the perfect place to start on the north side of the cape. The boys were awesome. They were perfect models.
This guy is the younger brother. He had my heart at the very kiss he swiped across my face. I’m pretty sure he couldn’t believe his good luck as he started race across the sand. He loved every minute of kicking up his heals.
This guy is the gentle giant of the pair.
Max is Ray’s yang in every way. Ray gave big, wet, sloppy kisses. Max gave a gentleman’s nudge with his head. Ray raced with the wind on the beach. Max let the breeze wash over his face like a gentle massage. Ray is the young one, anxious to meet the world around him. Max is an old soul with all of the wisdom. Together, they are a perfect pair.
To say we had the best time ever at the beach with these two would be an understatement.
Thank you for supporting the Willamette Humane Society.
