A whole bunch of nothing

An original postcard—New Mexico

An original travel postcard—New Mexico

We left Arizona early and traveled into New Mexico. I have always enjoyed New Mexico and it never seemed as hot as like Arizona. The drive was pleasant and beautiful.

And then, we hit Texas. Holy cow, I-10 goes forever. The landscape was pretty, the big puffy clouds were awesome, but it never seemed to end. My best advice would be to stop for gas every chance you get because there is no telling when the next gas station will appear or rest area for that matter.

Driving after dark is a whole ‘nother avoidable topic. It was pitch black and winding driving down into San Antonio.

Just because we have a lot of turf to cover, most of my photography of the landscape happens when  Karen is driving and I am shooting out the window.

Oh ya, I hated, hated, hated the “Watch for snake” signs at the rest areas. Ick!
