Laissez les bons temps rouler

An original travel postcard—Louisiana

An original travel postcard—Louisiana

Today is a day to play, play, play.

With nearly 2700 miles under our belt, I fear my butt is at a permanent right angle. Our car has been whisked away to some unknown location by valet and we are going to spend the day in the French Quarter walking, eating and taking photos.

The drive from San Antonio to Houston was so beautiful. I must admit I was quite smitten by Texas at that point.

And then, there was the drive through Louisiana… So lush, so green, so amazing.

A photo friend I met through Flicker (insert how much I love the age of Internet here) called us #RoadWarriors yesterday. That could not be more perfect and I love it. She asked if this was our destination. Nope, it’s just a long turn out in the road.

All of my photography to date has been at rest areas when we stopped long enough to powder our noses, stretch our legs and change drivers. Yesterday it was all from the road.

The traffic in Baton Rouge was bumper-to-bumper for miles and we only stopped to get gas.
