They say time flies when you are having fun. I am completely amazed that tomorrow will be my fifth year doing the fundraiser for Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue Pacific Northwest Region at Furever Pets in Portland.
I really love these dogs and Aubrey, the woman that heads up the rescue is nothing short of amazing. She works so hard for the group. She’s taken long road trips to retrieve a ridgie in need and then turned around to deliver ridgies to the perfect foster homes before they find their forever homes. She spends countless hours driving back and forth to various vet appointments. Her love for the breed is endless and yet, if another dog needs her help, she is the first one in line to help. It is always an honor to help her group.
Every year Aubrey comes up with a theme for her fundraiser. Out of her own pocket she carefully chooses a color theme that will make every dog look fabulous.
One-by-one, the ridgies come in for their yearly holiday portrait.
And no matter the theme, they always shine either by themselves or with their pack.
We’ll be at Furever Pets on Sunday, October 23 from 11 am to 3 pm. We still have a few spots open. I hear the color scheme is purple and white. This is the only event that I actually send out a hi-res digital, perfect for holiday cards.
We are happy to work in walk-ins, Aubrey says the best time is between 12:10 and 1 pm, but you can also call Furever Pets at 503.282.4225 to make an appointment.
