During our cold snap we brought the hummingbird feeders in at night to keep them from freezing and first thing in the morning we would take them out.
As soon as we walked out with the feeders this little guy was there for breakfast. We really have grown quite attached to him. He’s there the minute we walk out and frequently hovers above us flapping his wings.
We’ve even established a friendly game of hind and seek. He perches somewhere in the ancient plum tree and calls for us to find him. It’s the bird version of Marco/Polo.
This afternoon, when the skies were partly sunny and the temps hovering around 50°, the little guy was quite pleased and as a token of his delight he gave me quite a show.
