This sweet little lady in silver came by for a visit at Nature’s Pet Salem. This tiny 12 year old poodle was so cute. I loved her bouffant hair and her little pink tongue.

She gave me all of her best looks too.

Shelby

Shelby may have been my Queen for a Day… but I’m guessing she is probably queen every day.

Zoey 

Those beautiful eyes this little girl has are only for her momma. Where ever her mom walked, those eyes followed.

Zoey was a little unsure at first, but once she realized mom was close by, she perked up her ears and gave me her best. Such a happy girl.

Zoey was more than happy to settle in on the settee and pose. She was so attentive. I fell head over heals in love with her.

Sadie Mae

Meet Sadie Mae. She is a 9 1/2 month old boxer that came to see me Saturday at Nature’s Pet Salem. She is such an adorable baby. If I recall correctly, this was her first time up on a sofa… sorry mom, hope I didn’t start something. But she just looked so darn cute.

She was more than happy to pose for me. I think there might just be a modeling career in her future.

Sadie Mae

I had heard from a friend of a friend that there was a new puppy boxer in town and I was thrilled to finally get to meet her.

Nanuk

Whatta ya get when you cross a retriever and a chihuahua? You get Nanuk, cutest little pup ever.

He came by Nature’s Pet Salem last Saturday and this was my first time meeting Nanuk and he had me with his brown eyes, floppy ears and fluffy tail.

He was quite attentive to his mom, he never wanted to take his eyes off of her.

He may have thought about giving me a little ‘tude, almost sticking his tongue out at me. But I prefer to think that he just wanted to show me that the tip of his tongue is two-toned.

Nanuk

Little Nanuk, I hope you aren’t a stranger.  I would love to see those gorgeous brown eyes again. You’re adorable.

Percy

When I do the events at Nature’s Pet Salem, I’m always excited to  see who comes.

Some days I make new friends, some times I see old friends.

And some days, my heart is truly warmed when I get visits by special friends.

Percy is one of those dogs. When I first met him, he had just been adopted. He was one of those “foster failures.” Somewhere between 10 minutes and two hours, Percy had determined that he had found his forever home. That was ten months ago and this boy has blossomed.

He tells whole stories with just his eyes alone.

He has true love for his mom.

This is his look of, I can’t believe you are asking me, the great white gentle giant, to get up on that itsy bitsy settee.

He even double-checked with his mom to see if one, he should be on the settee and two, did he really have to do it. He wasn’t sure that burgundy and roses were really appropriate for such a handsome fella.

Once he figured out that he truly looked gorgeous up there and that he actually fit, he relaxed and worked the camera like a true model.

Percy

Since the last time I saw Percy, he has gotten his CGC, Canine Good Citizen and the biggest news of all, in June, he will graduate as a therapy dog.

Way to go Percy. I always knew there were great things ahead for you.

Zoey

This pretty little lady is Zoey, queen for a day. This little girl is so elegant. I met her and her two buddies last December. They came by Nature’s Pet Salem yesterday during the Pet Parents party for their photo.

Cooper, Zoey and Levi

These three pomeranians really knew how to work the camera. They were adorable.

Levi took a quick break from all of the posing. So much fluff, especially compared to living with greyhounds.

This was one of my favorites. Zoey and Levi definitely had the look.

Five week old kitten  

Today Nature’s Pet Salem hosted a Pet Parents party. It was a great time had by all. I had some beautiful dogs come by for portraits… and then, I had four tiny five-week old kittens come through. A challenge to photograph, they were pure joy.

They were so cute, so curious and so busy. They moved from corner to corner of the settee. I’m not sure what happened that this little one even stopped for a minute. But what a cutie.

Talley  

Achk! This wasn’t the answer I wanted from the vet visit this morning. I was really looking for “I think she pulled a muscle.”

They compared the X-rays to the ones taken three weeks ago, the shadow was larger. We are now forging ahead with plan B. X-rays of the lungs first to make sure we don’t have metz to the lungs. If they are clear, they will do a biopsy. Once those results are back, we will know which direction we are going.

Here is the really weird thing. When I took her to the vet clinic three weeks ago, she had a mild limp on one of her front legs. She is so terrified of anywhere other than her back yard she quit limping. As the vet watched her walk, she noticed a strange movement in her hind legs and did back end x-rays just to check.

She didn’t start limping on her back legs until last week and I told her I could only do one dog at a time and Flo was in having surgery. Yesterday the limp returned with a vengeance.

Back to the waiting and hoping game. I love our vets, we are so lucky to have them, but we have been spending way to much quality time in their waiting room lately.

Talley  

I love her ears and her deep brown velvet eyes. Talley has to be one of the sweetest greyhounds ever.

Three weeks ago she had a shadow on her x-ray, now she has a full-blown limp and barely puts weight on the leg. X-rays again tomorrow. She’s a trooper though. She’d rather not go to the vet, she’s always been shy, but she’ll be brave.

Fingers crossed Talley girl that it is nothing.

Marlow

This little cutie is Marlow. He’s a two-year old Boston terrier mix available for adoption at the Marion County Dog Shelter. He’s charming, he’s sweet and he’s a very happy boy.

He is quite well-mannered. He patiently sat for me as I took his photos watching the world drift by behind us.

I fell in love with his nose. It is so darn cute and completed his personality perfectly.

He’s ready and waiting for his forever home.
