583 – Kiss me

ISO 400, 190mm, f/2.8, 1/250 sec

This weeks assignment for Project 52 is “Road Trip”. Are you kidding me? I live in Oregon, I live for road trips.

I watched the weather closely all week and as it got closer to the week-end and the weather looked like it was going to be beautiful, I knew where we were going.

Karen left work early and by 4:30 we were beach bound. We drove to Newport and the first place I headed was down on the old waterfront where the sea lions gather to bark at the people passing by.

Last time I was there, they were about 20 lined up below the pier. Yesterday when we got there all of them were out on a jetty, too far for my 200mm reach and do any justice. Except this guy and his buddy.

Every once in a while he’d open one eye just to make sure I was still there and then he would change his pose. He was beautiful.

And then, I noticed his lips.
