Weathered vane

ISO 100, 200mm, f/2.8, 1/8000, 1/2000, 1/500 sec – HDR

Day 651 Today was mostly a day of drive-by shootings. We went for a ride, I used one lens and when I saw something that might be interesting, I opened my window and took a shot. OK, I do pull over and get the car out of harms way and I almost always get out so that I can find an angle I like. I even had to walk back about 1/2 mile for one series of photos.

I wish I knew which dusty country road I had turned on when I found this weather vane. When I looked up and saw it, I fell in love with it.

This photo lent itself quite well to a process called HDR. I took three exposures (one under exposed, one properly exposed and one over exposed) and blended them in Photomatix. I don’t do it very often, but this one felt right.

Under exposed 1/8000 sec, Properly exposed 1/2000 sec, Over exposed 1/500 sec
